More sketches from Fossil Rim. The one on the left is a Gemsbok. Of course the other is a zebra.

This year we had a less than traditional Thanksgiving so I pardoned the turkey but it did not go so well for the pig. We had pork roast on plastic plates on blankets on the floor picnic style. We did not have to deal with who would sit in Dad's chair. It went well. Now on to Christmas.....

Lost Kidd in the Motorhome

I woke up in Tulsa to a rainy morning. We had had thunderstorms most of the night. I looked at the couch and Kidd was not there. I looked down beside me and Kidd was not there. It is not that big of a motorhome and Kidd IS big. I finally found him.

I'm still among the living although suffering from a sprained ankle at the present. All is well at the ranch and with me. I will be better about my posts from now on.

Other changes

These are the other two fixtures we installed. I love all the changes so far and more to come.

Changes in the ranchhouse

Here's Kris with her head in the wall cutting copper pipes. The shower is fixed and works great.
One of the 3 fixtures we put up.

Last week I stayed with Keri and Cate while Brian was away on business. Cate helped us pick out flowers for the front of their house. Isn't she adorable?

Sketch Crawl 2/27

This is the Ponder State Bank that was "robbed" by Bonnie and Clyde. They didn't get any money because it went belly-up the week before. It was also used in the movie Bonnie and Clyde starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. It really isn't urban area but it is as urban as rural Ponder gets. KZ

on the way home

In Las Cruces, NM I drove the coach down to Mesilla to look around. I parked at the visitor center and walked to the old part of town. There was a church with a park in front and shops all around the block. Neat place. You can see the little stands in the park also selling things. It was a beautiful day. After that, it was onward back to TX.

Old Tucson

No vacation is complete without some kind of contact with horses! This one was no different. These "big heavies" (the horses not me) pulled a stagecoach through Old Tucson. Yes we did ride it.

Nogales, AZ

This is a border town in AZ /Mexico. I did not have my passport so we could not go into Mexico. We walked down to the border and watched cars going through and people walking through. We got a scowl from a Border Patrolman so we moved on.

The other shot is the great wall with cameras mounted above. This is one ugly wall. Your tax dollars at work!

Las Cruces, NM

These are sketches I did while traveling to NM. These are my mental images of the trek through West TX on the was to El Paso. The day today was rainy so not a good day to be outside. Might as well drive. I am in an RV park in Las Cruces and the snow-covered mountains are right outside my window. Hopefully, I can capture them in my journal tonight. I even had a little sunlight trickle in the RV. Love it.

Big Spring, TX

I arrived at Big Spring this afternoon. The park is small and very graveled. No pavement at all. They do have a dog park. Kidd spent a lot of time there smelling. We met a Great Pyrenees who rides on the dash of his motorhome. Yes, he is huge and very friendly. His "Mom" was very friendly too. My neighbors are from Minnesota spending the winter in TX. They were checking out my scooter and ramp. All is well. Couldn't load pics because the internet is too slow.

Happy Holidays????

This year has been a very tough Christmas and New Year. I lost my dear sweet hubby of 39+ years to cancer. He died 2 days after Christmas and we had his service on Jan.2. It makes me very sad to hear Merry Christmas or Happy New Year. Mine were neither.

Now, I learn how to be 1 instead of part of 2. I notice when I sit alone in a restaurant and others are in groups of 2. I saw Valentine's Day clothes and decorations when shopping and realized I am dreading Valentine's Day. It is not a holiday for 1.

This is another step in life which I must now take. I didn't think I would be taking it when I was so young. I think I am young to be a widow.

Life goes on.
