We have finished with radiation today. Thought you might like to see what Keifer has been going through. He got a certificate at the end and he gets to keep his mask.

Almost finished

Getting close. We have trim to put on but other than that, the screened-in porch is finished. We have moved the toads out and begun using it ourselves. Keri and Brian came over and we had a ruthless game of Hearts on the porch. Guess who won?? Keifer of course.

It begins

Hubby and I decided to screen in our patio. We have begun construction. Thought you might enjoy seeing what we have done.

Watercolors

Here are the new watercolor paintings I have done to work through a new watercolor art book. There were done in order: apple, grapes, orange and then pear.

The lightning flashes in the night sky revealing the dark clouds which have been flooding the land for three days. Glimpses of an old tractor forced sideways into the mud by the rising waters are slightly revealed. An old barn helps to gauge the rise of the rain by standing firm agains the rushing downpour. This scene as you have probably noticed by now is most likely dark and moody. I've tried to leave it open for interpretaion as well so that you won't get stuck.

My son got married this past weekend. I used one of the table arrangements for my subject. I hope you can see the shading well enough.

Drawing assignment 1

Morning Walk

My dog, Kidd, and I took our regular morning walk.

He visited with his buddies, Zorro and Clyde.

The Indian Paintbrush is in full bloom now. That is one of the wildflowers in Texas.

SNAKES

Last evening at dusk, I decided I needed to mow the yard because it was going to rain yet again. The grass is very high due to all the rain we have had. I fired up the little John Deere and took off. I mowed for 30 to 40 minutes before the "event" happened. I was looking down to see where the standing water was and felt something brush my hand. Looking up to my hand, I saw a brown SNAKE slithering out from under the hood of the tractor. I jumped off of the moving mower and screamed bloody murder. Thanks to the dead man's seat, the tractor died. I stood there screaming but hubby was engrossed in his TV show and didn't hear. I ran up to the house and stormed in stressing the need for guns and other weapons. We gathered up our weapons of choice and headed back down to the road. We were too late. The little hitchhiker had fled the scene. I find that I am usually much more comforted when I kill the snake than when they escape to haunt me again.
